So this is it, we are at war and we are fighting for our independence. However, gentlemen as the colonists were, we felt that we needed to inform that king not only that "hey dude, we're gonna go do this being a country thing on our won!", but "sooooo here are the reasons why we're telling you go to kick rocks!" And this is why the Declaration of Independence was created :)
OPENING ACTIVITY - With your TEAM, discuss who was the PRIMARY author of the Declaration of Independence, who helped create the final draft and why was it necessary that more than 1 person wrote the Declaration of Independence? (This was allllll discussed in the 2nd episode of John Adams).
