Hello ladies and gentlemen! So nice to see you for the first and last time this week!
Thank you for being awesome for the sub while I was out. Chael was sick so this mama had to stay home with him. Knowing that you guys know how to behave while I'm out makes it easier for me to be home and take care of my sick baby.
Today, we are going to finish up the Constitutional Convention ... and in the name of it being Friday, we are going to switch things up to make today a little more relaxing (but just as rigorous!) You will be working in your teams to research and present the final decisions of the convention - the Three-Fifths Compromise and How the Executive is Elected. You will create a Pic Collage for EACH decision and post it to the Padlet link below (both Pic Collage will be posted to the same class period Padlet). Each team member has a role:
#1's - Scribe (this person will take notes for the group that will be used in your pic collage)
#2's - Questioner (this is the ONLY person in the group that is allowed to ask Ms. Razgha questions! So that means the group should communicate any questions to this person and this person then asks me!)
#3's - Artistic Director (this person is the creator of the Pic Collage. That does not mean they create the Pic Collage how they want it to look, but with the input of their teammates, this person is the creator of the Pic Collage)
#4's - Presenter (You will not simply be standing up and reading off your Pic Collage, but each group will be asked different questions, so make sure you're prepared!)
Here are the questions that need to be answered in your Pic Collages Each group is responsible for their group number questions (i.e. Group 1 answers questions #1) and ALL groups answer question #6.

Three-Fifths Compromise
- What was the argument for counting people as slaves?
- Why was the slave trade important to the South and what would getting rid of the slave trade do to them?
- What was the argument made in response to that and WHY was this a valid argument?
- Why would not counting slaves hurt people in the South?
- Explain how the Three Fifths Compromise work? (include a visual!)
- Do you think this was a fair compromise? Why or why not?
Electoral College
- Why were the delegates opposed to a single executive?
- Why didn't the delegates want the people to directly vote for the President?
- Explain how the Electoral College works & functions. (Include a visual).
- How were president and vice president elected and how and WHY has that changed over time?
- What is an argument for how the Electoral College is unfair?
- Do you agree with the idea of the Electoral College? Why or why not?
